Women around the world are finding solutions to the plastic problem.

ReCharkha is an inspirational, non-profit organisation with a mission to:

  • UPCYCLE waste to conserve the environment
  • set up rural livelihoods and
  • create aware citizens of this planet!

The project is named after the traditional Indian charkha (spinning wheel). It employs tribal women and teaches them craft-based skills. They learn how to spin the waste plastic on the wheel then use a handloom to create colourful fabrics.
