This beautiful book tells the inspirational story about Isatou Ceesay.
In the 1990s, Isatou noticed that people were using plastic bags to carry their shopping instead of baskets. If the bags broke, they were thrown away on the streets.
Isatou saw a problem and turned it into an opportunity. She collected the bags, washed and dried them, then cut them into plastic yarn. She crocheted purses, bags and shoes to sell and shared her idea to empower other women. The Women Initiative Gambia was set up involving over 3,000 women.
