Who knows what the job market will be in the future….. but one of the best things we can do is to learn practical skills. Knitting, sewing and crocheting are not just fun things to do, they teach us:
– applied mathematics
– engineering and construction skills
– architectural design
– creativity and innovation
– mindfulness
– patience and perseverance.
– and fine motor skills….. lost in this age of tech. Medical students have been advised to take up sewing or knitting as a hobby if they want to be surgeons.
Our education system is missing a huge trick by removing “soft” subjects from the curriculum. But YouTube is an open university with a wealth of tutorials including THE cardigan of the moment.
